JPG to WebP. Less weight, when it works.
Make WebP copies of your JPEG photographs for modern web delivery. Tune quality and check the actual size difference for every image.
How to convert JPG to WEBP.
Check compatibility with your actual destination. WebP is useful for modern browsers, but some document and upload workflows still require JPEG.
- 01
Add JPG or JPEG photographs to the converter.
- 02
Choose a WebP quality setting; start high and adjust if necessary.
- 03
Convert and review each output’s actual size difference.
- 04
Download your files and compare their appearance at the size you will display them.
A few useful answers.
How much smaller will WebP be?
There is no guaranteed percentage. Image content, original JPEG quality and the browser encoder all affect the finished size; some outputs become larger.
Can conversion improve a blurry photo?
No. Format conversion does not add detail or fix blur. A WebP is a new encoding of the pixels available in your JPEG.
Should I repeatedly convert the same photo?
Avoid repeated lossy encoding when possible. Keep your original and generate new outputs from it so artifacts do not accumulate across conversions.
