JPG to PNG. Ready for your next edit.
Create a PNG copy for an editing workflow or a PNG-only application. Conversion preserves the decoded image; it cannot restore details already lost in JPEG.
How to convert JPG to PNG.
Useful when a design or editing application requires PNG. Changing the format alone does not sharpen, upscale, or remove a background.
- 01
Choose JPG or JPEG images. Both filename extensions are accepted.
- 02
Review the filenames and original dimensions in the queue.
- 03
Convert to PNG. PNG output does not use a lossy quality slider.
- 04
Compare the file sizes and download the PNG copy for your next step.
A few useful answers.
Can PNG recover JPEG detail?
No. A PNG can preserve the pixels decoded from your JPG, but it cannot reconstruct information removed by earlier JPEG compression.
Why is the PNG larger?
PNG uses lossless encoding. A photograph usually needs more bytes in PNG than a compressed JPEG, even when both look the same.
Will this remove the background?
No. Changing format does not identify or remove a background. Your JPEG pixels remain opaque in the PNG copy.
